October is here – which means Halloween is fast approaching and it’s officially time to start thinking about your outfit. We’ve taken a look back at 2019 so far to come up with 13 looks inspired by the best cinema and TV events of the year. Keep reading to find the right one for you, and shop all the pieces you need to pull it off…

1. Ashley O in Black Mirror: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too

Skintight metallics and whites mixed with sportswear staples – Ashley O’s looks are pretty easy to achieve – just add a pink bob wig and no one will question who you are dressed up as. You’ll get extra points if you know the whole choreography to ‘On A Roll’.

2. The girls of Euphoria on Halloween

When Euphoria‘s Halloween episode aired, the show’s make up artist posted a picture of all the costumes captioned ‘I hope everyone knows which character in costume of @euphoria they will be this year for Halloween. It will be so meta.’ Challenge accepted.

3. Sharon Tate in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

OUATIH was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of the year and resurfaced Sharon Tate‘s status as the style icon of ’60s Hollywood. Take cues from Margot Robbie’s Sharon in a simple black jumper, white mini skirt and matching white boots.

4. Eleven in Stranger Things 3

Scrunchies, crazy printed shirts, mom jeans and Retro trainers – pay tribute to the bold and colourful ’80s as seen in Stranger Things 3. Extra tip: If you’re a group of three, each go dressed up in one of Eleven’s most iconic outfits from each season.

5. Villanelle and Eve in Killing Eve Season 2

TV’s coolest duo is definitely also the coolest partner costume you can do with your best friend this Halloween. We’re inspired by this promo shot of Eve in a tailored suit and Villanelle in a black lace prairie dress.

6. Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel

If you like low maintenance costumes, you’ll love this one. Channel Brie Larson’s off-duty Captain Marvel look with a pair of ripped straight leg jeans, a band tee, oversized biker jacket and a baseball cap. Done.

7. Angel in Pose Season 2

Category is: Pose realness! Inspired by New York’s ball culture there are so many show-stopping looks you could recreate from the FX show, but we decided to go for Angel’s co-ord look worn at a model casting call.

8. Fleabag in Fleabag

After winning all the Emmy Awards, Fleabag is the name on everyone’s lips and that jumpsuit has definitely made TV history. Get the iconic look with a black flared jumpsuit, blazer, leather handbag and a swipe of dark red lipstick. Award worthy.

9.  Lucrecia in Elite Season 2

Posh girl Lucrecia’s style should resonate with you if you’re the Blair Waldorf kind of girl. In season 2 of the popular Spanish drama, Lu accessorises her school uniform with hair clips, brooches, oversized sunnies and killer heels.

10. Joker in Joker

The Joker is always a popular choice for Halloween, but is probably more relevant than ever this year with a whole film based on the iconic villain’s backstory out in cinemas right now. And yes, we managed to recreate his most iconic look with Topshop pieces…

11. Marie Kondo in Tidying Up with Marie Kondo

This is another easy one, but all the more clever: pick a floral skirt, button up a fitted cardigan on top and take a stack of perfectly folded clothes with you for extra effect. This costume is definitely sure to spark joy all around.

12. Dani in Midsommar

Being one of the most terrifying movies of the year, Midsommar couldn’t be missing on this list. The look is easy to do too: all you need is a white dress, a flower crown and some tears smeared on…

13. Adelaide / Red in Us

Whether you decide to go as Adelaide or Red, both portrayed by Lupita Nyong’o in Us, you’re guaranteed to make an entrance. Even better, do the look half Adelaide, half Red to get some extra creepiness into your Halloween costume.
